Gwendolyn Staples-Tiggs affectionately known as " Gwennie ", a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 6,2025, surrounded by her family at Wolfcreek Campus of Genacross Lutheran Services. Gwennie was born on November 1,1958, at Maumee Valley Hospital to Guy and Mable Lee Staples. Growing up in a large family with 18 siblings, Gwennie was fortunate to experience a loving upbringing. Gwennie was wonderful, devout woman who touched many lives with her kindness, warmth and playful spirit - known to her loved ones as the queen of pranks! She enjoyed watching game shows, action movies, soap operas, and courtroom show dramas ( especially Judge Judy ) Her greatest joys were spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchild, and grand-neices and grand-nephews, sharing her love of Christ and positively influencing the next generation.
A graduate of Scott High School in 1976, Gwennie pursued her passion for administrative work at Stautzenberger College, earning a secretarial certificate. She continued secretarial career at the Clarion-Southwyck Hotel until its closure in 2008. Afterward, Gwennie became a devoted homemaker, enjoying her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also affectionately known as "GiGi" to her grand-neices and grand-nephews, particularly Alajah and Arnajah Gilbert, Aaliyah Clayborne, and Jalen Harris.
Gwennie was a very outgoing person, cherishing time with her family. She loved attending family gatherings. Gwennie along with her sister BJ former the dynamic duo known we " The Dream Team ", renowned for their spirited card games whooping in spades. As a woman of strong faith, Gwennie consistently nutured her spirituality through regular attendance at First Church of God and by watching online services when unable to attend in person.
Gwennie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Lionel C.Kynard ; her siblings, Marry Lee Staples, Betty Jo Rutherford, Guy Staples Jr, Marcus Staples Sr, Patricia Pattin, Shelia Taylor, and Robert Staples ; Her special god neice Lennyah Harris, who she affectionly called Night-Night., DeAngelo Buchanan, Edi Clayborne, Four Aunts, Two Uncles, numerous neices and nephews.
Gwennie is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Andre L. Tiggs; her sons Louie Clause Kynard |||, and Kyle Anthony ( Sevana ) Kynard; her daughters, Tiandrea Nashae Tiggs and Tamyra Naomi Tiggs; her grandchildren, Trevon Lionel Kynard, Eliyah Servon Mason, Isaiah Anthony Kynard, Torien Gwendoyln-Ann Greer, Luciana Brielle Kynard, Torian Christopher Greer Jr., Trinity Andrea-Payton Greer, and Kai Crosby; her great-grandbaby, Mylaia Marie-Lynne Kynard; her bonus children, Kenya(Rodnal) Crosby, Stephani Rogers, Torian Christopher Greer Sr., Brandi Hinton and Dareisha Taylor. ; her bonus grandchild, Felicia Crampton ; grand-dog Mylo ; her brothers Johnny Staples, Rudy Sr ( Jackie ) Staples ; Her sisters Mary Lee Warden, Naomi Ruth ( Richard ) Craig, Ludi Heath, Brenda Staples, Lillian Carol ( Frank ) Buchanan, Debra ( Hiram ) Duffie, Joetta ( Mark ) Kynard, Robin Kay Owens, and Barbara Ann McDonald; Aunts; Leola Holston, Lucretia Davis and Mary Wilson. and numerous neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Although she will be dearly missed by all, we rejoice that Father god has welcomed his heavenly daughter home to bask in eternal glory. Loop
