Gwendolyn Wade Obituary

Gwendolyn Eileen Wade, affectionately known as Gwen, a cherished matriarch, and beacon of warmth in her community, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, in Kyle, Texas. Born on January 28, 1940, in Austin, Texas, Gwen's radiant spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Gwen's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and service. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James E. Wade, and her son, James D. Wade. Her legacy continues through her loving children: Brenda Duggins and her husband Dwayne, Jerry Wade and his wife Virginia, Valerie Duggins and her husband Darron, and Randy Wade and his wife Deborah. Gwen was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, whose stories and guidance will live on through the many generations that follow.

A graduate of St. Mary's high school, Gwen dedicated her life to the nurturing and care of her family as a homemaker. Her passion for community service was evident through her active involvement with the Elroy Public Library Association Board, where she helped foster a love for reading and education. As an election official, Gwen was committed to ensuring the voices of her community were heard, and as an activity director for eldercare, she brought joy and engagement to the lives of many seniors.

Gwen's creative spirit shone brightly in her love for the arts. An accomplished pianist, she delighted in sharing her talent through recitals. Her love for antiquing, especially glassware, was more than a hobby-it was a journey through history that she cherished deeply. Gwen's green thumb brought beauty to the world as she tended to her plants and flowers, and her skill in arts and crafts added a touch of her unique flair to all her creations.

A devout Christian, Gwen's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. It guided her actions and gave her strength throughout her life's journey. She was a shining example of compassion and grace, living her beliefs through her kindness and generosity to others.

Gwen's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, yet her spirit remains a guiding light. Her life was a beautiful mosaic of love, dedication, and service-a life well-lived and well-loved. As we bid farewell to Gwendolyn Eileen Wade, we hold tight to the memories and the lessons she imparted. Her story does not end here; it is carried forward in the lives of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.

Gwen's memory will be cherished and celebrated, as her influence continues to bloom like the gardens she so lovingly tended. We say goodbye to a remarkable woman, whose legacy will endure through the countless lives she has enriched. Rest in peace, dear Gwen. Your love will forever be our guide.
