Daniel Wade Obituary

Published by Legacy from Nov. 5 to Nov. 7, 2025.
Daniel C. Wade, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on October 29, 1935, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Clancy) Wade. A proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, Daniel exemplified the spirit of service throughout his life. After completing his service, he dedicated himself to protecting his community as a firefighter, retiring from the Ft. Lauderdale Fire Department after many years of devoted service.
Daniel's life was a testament to compassion and kindness. He actively volunteered at local churches, providing food and clothing to those in need. He was known for checking in on neighbors and ensuring their well-being, embodying the true essence of community spirit. A devoted father, he cherished his children, Brigid Essert, Kristen (Sal) Messina, and Sean (Sylvie) Wade, and would do anything to support them. Daniel had a knack for handyman tasks and took great pleasure in mowing his daughter's yard, even when they insisted they could manage.
He enjoyed long walks in his neighborhood, taking the time to connect with everyone he met. His passion for sports shone through as he cheered on his grandchildren with unwavering enthusiasm. Daniel's warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Heather (Josh) Beighley, Jessica (Nick) Larmann, Anthony (Vanessa) Essert, Lucas, Jake, and Alivia Messina, and Sophie Ouellette-Wade, as well as great-grandchildren Brock and Mark Beighley, Hudson, Hadley, Holton, and Hendrix Larmann, and Boone, Mabel, Waylon, and Josie Essert. Daniel will be remembered by his dear sisters, Maureen Stuart, and Sr. Brigid Wade IHM "Sister Peg" and brother Larry Wade.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Victoria Hincher, son-in-law, Mark Essert, and brothers, Charles and Jerry Wade.
Though he has departed from this world, the love and memories Daniel created will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
