James Cameron Obituary

Visit the Harrell Funeral Home of Austin website to view the full obituary.
James Ray Cameron passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 30. Born on May 15, 1995, in Austin, Texas, James was a beacon of courage, love and adventure throughout his life.

James was the son of Dennis Cameron (partner Jonica), Step-Mom Rene Cameron and Krystina Cameron. He grew up surrounded by the love and support of his sisters Julia, Savannah, Cassidy, and Kristin who gave him nieces and nephews Malayah, Ayden, Alija, Eli, Kayden, Brodee, Maxine and Jaks. James was also the proud grandson of Dennis Cameron and the late Loretta (Lori) Millican, and the late Sheila Allred. He held a special place in the heart of his Aunt Misty Cameron, Aunt Renee Hernandez, and their families, as well as his late Aunt Mary Claeys, Aunt Kara and Uncle Mike Allred.

James' favorite place in the world was Camp Ben McCullough in Driftwood spending valuable time with family and lifelong friends. Whether he was fishing with his buddies, exploring the wilderness, camping or feeling the wind on his face while riding his motorcycle, James was truly at peace when he was immersed in nature.

James's passion for life was contagious. He approached every day with a courageous spirit, never shying away from challenges and always standing up for what he believed in. His loving nature was the cornerstone of his relationships, and he was a devoted partner, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.

To say that James will be missed is an understatement. He leaves behind a legacy of love, a multitude of memories, and an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. James's journey through life, though far too short, was one filled with laughter, adventure, and an abundance of love.

As we bid farewell to James Ray Cameron, we celebrate the time we had with him and the countless ways in which he enriched our lives. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. James's story is one of a life well-lived and well-loved, and he will be profoundly missed by all.

The family invites all who wish to come out to Camp Ben McCullough on November 30, 2025 starting at 1pm to celebrate James's life.
