Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral & Cremation ServiceH. Lee Edwards, age 81, of Alliance, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025.
He was born on August 2, 1944, in Ridley, Tennessee, to the late Helen and H.B. Edwards.
H. Lee dedicated more than 25 years of his life to The American Steel Company and the steel industry in Gary, Indiana. Beyond his work, he was a man of many joys—he loved painting, watching baseball, fishing, walking his dog “Mister,” and most of all, spending time with his family.
He will be remembered as a man of wisdom, faith, and kindness who found great joy in sharing the Word. He never missed an opportunity to remind those around him of his love, often asking with a smile, “Did I tell you I love you today?”
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Miller and June Ann Threats; and brothers, Gregory Edwards and Michael Edwards.
Left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughters, Cherrie Jones and Precious (Dawatha) Jones; his sons, Vance (Katrecia) Edwards, H.Lee (Allonia) Edwards jr., Trelayne Edwards, and Marcus (Christina) Edwards; his siblings, Burnette Daniels, Sandra (Robert) Thomas, Timothy Edwards, Mark Edwards, and Joseph Edwards; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Though he will be deeply missed as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, his love and wisdom will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at Cassaday- Turkle Christian funeral home on Saturday September 20th at 12:00pm with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Bobby Williams will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Alliance City Cemetery.
