Hal Baughman
Aiken, SC-- A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023 at Cole Funeral Home, with Mr. Tim Harley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hal Baughman, age 76, entered into rest on November 14, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in New Holland, SC to the late Mr. Arnold Baughman Jr., and the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Wood. He was the beloved husband to Mrs. Patricia Huckabee Baughman. They met in the Spring of 1970, and married on October 17, 1970. Mr. Baughman worked at SRS in electrical and instrumentation. Some of Mr. Baughman’s hobbies were golfing, playing racket ball, and fishing. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching golf, baseball, and doing yardwork. He loved working with his son, Kevin, installing new swimming pools. He had a good sense of humor and could make everyone laugh. Mr. Baughman was a people person, and he loved his grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them, like he was a child himself. He always wanted to put a smile on someone’s face. Mr. Hal Baughman received a Bronze star when he served in the Vietnam War. Hal loved God, his family and his country. Survivors include: one son, Kevin Baughman, Ridge Spring; one daughter, Kristie (Mike) Beattie, Aiken; four sisters, Arlene Smith, Hazel Probst, Rose Rainsford, and Laurel Hope; three grandchildren, Aydin Porter, Emsley Porter, and Gracen Porter. Mr. Baughman was predeceased by four brothers, Freddie Baughman, Arnold Baughman, Homer Baughman, and Ray Baughman; and one sister, Betty Brady. Pallbearers will be Perry Corbett, Brian Howard, Bobby Sharpe, Connor Couture, Chris Fulmer, and Kenny Fair. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service at COLE FUNERAL HOME, 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175. The family would like to say thank you to everyone that helped him through this time of sickness, especially his niece Aleasha Couture and Pruitt Hospice.
