Howard “Hal” Austin McKaig Jr, age 67, of Trenton, GA, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on March 27, 2024.

A Celebration of Hal's life will be held at Chester Frost Park Pavilion 4 on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM.

Hal was a lifelong resident of Trenton, Georgia and was a graduate of Dade County High School where he met his wife of 47 years. Hal was first and foremost a family man and took great joy in the time he spent with his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and his great-granddaughter .

Hal was a retired Electrician and a real "jack of all trades". He loved to tinker and he could build or repair just about anything you asked him. he never met a job that was too complicated or something he couldn't do himself. Additinaly, he enjoyed camping with his family, boating on the lake, sitting by the ocean, and rocking to the music of the 70's.

Hal is survived by his loving wife, Susan McKaig; children, Josh (Sara) McKaig and Lauren (Andrew) Jones; grandchildren, Reghan, Levi, and Logan; his great-granddaughter. Lily Ann; along with several other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard McKaig and Patsy Renfroe McKaig and his sister, Kimberly Wilson.

During this time of sorrow, let us remember Hal for the positivity and light he brought into the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
