God's hands come in many forms. Clergy, military, police, doctors, and teachers carry out His daily work. But today, God called one of His bravest children, one with many names a woman, a wife, a mother, and a friend. On January 15th, 2025, God welcomed Halina Mysliwiec, 76, home to His kingdom.
Halina Mysliwiec was a true Matriarch. Her life and her love were her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Her love was strong, complete with direction and purpose. The quality of her beautiful family says it all.
When Halina packed up her family and all that she knew to move to the United States from her hometown of Nowy Sacz, she left behind her extended family and friends to establish a new life-a move that required strength, faith, and sacrifice.
As difficult as that move must have been, she never forgot where she came from and stayed connected to her Polish roots her entire life. Now her children and grandchildren hold the same priceless values, and her family and friends back home are still very much a part of our lives here. Thanks to her, our traditions today are still those of the old country.
The gray area didn't exist in this incredible woman's life. There was no right or wrong-there was only the Polish way. She lived a life of dignity. She believed in Jesus and lived her life as closely to His path as she could.
It's worth mentioning that Halina's English was never great, but this eulogy was written by her very American son-in-law, who truly got to know her through body language, hand gestures, broken translations, and acts of kindness and love. The last one being the key. Halina's ability to communicate through love never wavered and was always very clear. I think that is what she saw in all of us-our ability to be like her, who loved Jesus. She could recognize sacrifice, love, and grace without a word being spoken. That was her superpower, and that was her gift to the world. She was a true mother. She led by example and taught us all life lessons that will last longer than anything on this earth, especially the strength and invincibility she showed in her last days. Halina was a superhero who fought a good fight against her illness for the last four and a half years.
Thank you, Mom, and thank you, Halina. We love you. We know you now rest in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and with your beautiful daughter Kasia. Bless your soul and thank you for your love and sacrifice. The world is a better place because of you, and we will never forget who taught us life's most important lessons, especially the strength to love louder than words ever could. The memories we all shared with you will forever live on.
Beloved wife of Eugeniusz. Devoted mother of Pawel and his wife Teresa, Marcin and his wife Alina, Magdalena Brown and her husband Scott, and the late Kasia Mysliwiec who passed away in 2016. Dear sister of Maria "Marta" Kociuba and her husband Tadeusz, Stanislaw Stanuch, Antoni Stanuch and his wife Zofia, Piotr Stanuch and his wife Liliana, and Jerzy Stanuch and his wife Alicja.
