In Loving Memory of Dr. Halyna Boryslavska-Andruseyko
With deep sorrow and eternal love, we announce the passing of Dr. Halyna Boryslavska-Andruseyko - a beloved mother, sister, daughter, cherished godmother and aunt, dear friend. A compassionate and gifted doctor, a tireless advocate for truth and for those in need, a proud daughter of Ukraine, and a grateful daughter of America-her second, now forever home, the land where her grandmother was born. She was a beacon of hope and strength for so many, and she left this world as she lived in it: full of love, purpose, and unwavering dedication to others.
Raised in the town of Skole in the Lviv region of Ukraine, Dr. Halyna embodied the soul and spirit of her heritage. A graduate of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University and trained at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Illinois, she brought her knowledge, heart, and spirit to every patient she met-both in Ukraine and, for more than 25 years, in the Ukrainian Village of Chicago and surrounding areas.
She was a legendary doctor-not only by profession, but by calling. Specializing in family medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics, she delivered thousands of babies-and cared for countless more patients with unwavering compassion.
She poured all of herself into the profession she so loved-working tirelessly, selflessly, and with extraordinary devotion. Even while courageously fighting cancer, she never slowed down. She chose to believe, to serve, and to uplift others, despite the odds she faced. Just two weeks before her heart stopped beating, she remained true to her calling-delivering four new lives into this world.
To those who knew her, she was more than a doctor-she was a guiding light, a source of strength, and a constant example of grace in action. She showed us, through the way she lived, what it means to move through life with integrity, resilience, and compassion. Her lesson was always clear: never give up. Keep moving forward, no matter the obstacles. And she lived that truth every single day.
Her contributions extended far beyond healthcare. She was a passionate humanitarian and an unshakable patriot, sending medical aid to Ukraine, organizing donations, supporting veterans, and helping connect the Ukrainian diaspora with its homeland. In every act, she carried the people in her heart and Ukraine in her soul.
The Ukrainian diaspora will remember her as a symbol of professionalism, dignity, and boundless compassion. A proud daughter of her motherland, Ukraine, and her homeland, America; a brilliant doctor, a devoted community leader, and a spiritual compass to so many.
Her legacy is eternal. It lives on in the thousands of lives she touched, in the children she helped bring into the world, and in every person who found warmth, wisdom, and courage in her presence.
May God grant you the brightest place in Heaven, our Angel Halyna. '
