Hannah Roberts Baumgardner of Greendale, WI, passed away peacefully on Oct 28th 2023, at the age of 96.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Bernard; children: Jayne, Craig (Randi), Eric (Nancy), and Laura (Charles), 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and 10 nieces/nephews.
Hannah was born on October 4, 1927 in Kenosha, WI, the 6th and youngest of the Roberts girls. She attended Bradford high school in Kenosha and subsequently earned a B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy at UW Madison. Hannah and Bernard were married in December of 1951. She worked as an Occupational Therapist at the VA prior to moving to California in 1953. Hannah and Bernard eventually settled in Manhattan Beach, where they purchased their first home. She found work as a secretary until starting a family when she became a stay at home mom. She could often be found at the beach or at the pool in the summer for her kids' swimming lessons. Along with a neighbor and friend, she was a Girl Scout Troop leader for many years. With a move to Fresno, CA in 1970, Hannah performed clerical work for a couple of years before a final move to Greendale, WI in 1972. She worked at Curative Rehabilitation center as an Occupational Therapist until she retired.
Hannah was an excellent knitter, enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing golf and Bridge. She and Bernard loved camping and traveling, taking advantage of their California location with numerous trips to the many National and State parks in the west, her favorite being Yosemite. While in the Midwest, her favorite vacation and camping spot was Peninsula State Park in Door County Wi. Memories of Roberts (Welsh) Family reunions and travels with her family were cherished.
