Hannah Genelle Brown, known affectionately as Genelle to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Born on May 25, 1945, Genelle's warmth and kindness were a beacon of light to all who knew her throughout her 80 years of life.

The beloved wife of Willis W. Brown, Genelle shared nearly 58 years of marriage with her devoted husband after they wed on March 23, 1968. Together, they built a family rooted in love. Genelle was a cherished mother to Daniel W. (Kim) Brown, Mary Ann (David) Uhouse, Teresa McMicken. Her role as a grandmother was one she held dear, leaving a legacy of joy through her grandchildren: Shannon (Zach) Martin, Katelyn (Steven) Dannenhower, Krisi (Gabe) Johnson, Keri (Tory) Brown, Josh (Miranda) McMicken, Codi Uhouse, Kacy (David) Flick, Caleb Uhouse, Daniel (Ally) Brown, Jr., and Ryan McMicken. Her great-grandchildren, Quaid, Quinn, Quorianna, Quelani Martin; Anzion, Zekeeus, Kayori Johnson; Ava and Everett Little, Annabelle, Noah, and Paityn McMicken, will forever cherish memories of her boundless love. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Harold) Kerney, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families, who will miss her deeply. Genelle was predeceased by her parents, James and Mary (Taylor) Browder, Sr., her brother James Browder, Jr., and her twin sister Ollie Genette Rosenbalm.

Genelle's early life was marked by her graduation from Blountville High School in 1965. Following graduation, she entered the workforce at the Gordon Garment Sewing Factory. It was shortly there after, she met Willis, introduced by his fellow Marine and her cousin, Wayne, marking the beginning of their lifelong journey together.

Professionally, Genelle dedicated 34 years to nurturing young minds as a beloved teacher's aide at Northeast Bradford Elementary School. Her commitment extended beyond the classroom as she served as President of the Potterville Ladies Aid and the PTSA at Northeast Bradford. She led with enthusiasm as a Bluebird - Campfire Leader. Genelle's days were long but fulfilling, as after her work with children, she would drive the school van and then would rush home to assist Willis with the farm chores. She will be remembered as the epitome of love, kindness, and friendliness. Her presence was a comforting constant, and the impact she had on her community was immeasurable.

Her interests were many and varied. Genelle cultivated beauty through her flower and vegetable gardens and sought adventure through travel with Willis, exploring the countryside and visiting friends. She was also an avid collector of Denim Day figurines, a hobby that reflected her appreciation for simple joys and treasured memories.

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of remembering the special gift Genelle was to all of us on Monday, February 9th from 4 – 6 at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow at 6 pm with Pastor Larry Jennings, officiating.
