Hannelore Albert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hines Funeral Home, Inc. - Lamar on Jun. 2, 2026.
Hannelore Albert was born in August 19, 1941 in Berlin Marzahn, Germany, a daughter of Maria Wanda Furmzilken and Julius Reichert. She passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the McLeod Hospice House.

Hannelore met her soul mate, Dwight Albert while he was stationed in Germany during his military career, They were married on December 23, 1975. They enjoyed a blessed and joyful life together for 45years.

She was a kind and warm hearted person who loved her family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors working her in her yard, planting vegetables, and feeding her fish.

Hannelore loved animals and had a German Shepherd named "Hercules" who followed commands spoken in German. After "Hercules" passed away, she got another dog, named him "Charlie" and a cat named "Max". In the evenings, Hannelore could be seen walking the dog in her neighborhood while talking with her neighbors.

When her health started to decline, Hannelore moved to Lamar, South Carolina and lived with her sister-in-law, Jeannane Holmes. While there, she developed new friendships on West Lynches River Road. She also attended Sandy Bluff United Methodist Church in Bishopville, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one of her sons, Wolfgang Ahrens and her husband, Dwight Albert.

Surviving to cherish the memory of Hannelore Albert are her two sons, Michael Ahrens and Thomas Ahrens both of Germany; her sister, Waltraud Bugert of Germany; four sisters-in-law, Jeannane Holmes, Adell (Billy) Blakney and Christine Brown all of Lamar, SC and JoAnn (Anhony) Lemon of Summerville, SC; three special friends, Margie Reddick of Lamar, SC, Debbie Grice of Stedman, NC, and Lissette Centeno of Fayetteville, NC; many other relatives and very dear friends.
