Richard Rogers Obituary
Richard Edward Rogers was born November 4, 1949 in Darlington County to the late Mary Lee Rogers Wiggins. He was also lovingly raised by his late grandparents, Isadore and Lucy Lee Rogers.
Richard Edward graduated from Spaulding High School in 1968. He was employed at Spaulding Elementary School as a custodian until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1969. After completing his tour of duty, during the Vietnam War, he returned to Lamar, South Carolina, where he met and married Molly Goodson Rogers. From this union, two sons were born: Rodney Rogers and Antonio Rogers.

After several years in Lamar, South Carolina, Richard and his family moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was later employed with Henderson Wood Company, where he remained until his retirement.
Richard Edward leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Rodney Rogers of Winston-Salem, NC, and Antonio Rogers of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Daisy Jean Hickman Cox; one stepson, Tyrone Hicks; one stepdaughter, Violette Goodson; brothers-in-laws, Edward E. Hickman of Lynchburg, SC, and Robert (Mary Ann) Goodson of Lamar, SC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
