Hans Joseph Gabriel, Sr., aged 83, born on April 3, 1942, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 28, 2025. The son of the late Felix and Eugenia (French) Gabriel Sr., Hans was a beacon of kindness and loyalty. He lived a life marked by devotion to his wife, Mireille (Hogu) Gabriel, and their children: Hans Gabriel Jr. and his wife Donna Cranshaw-Gabriel of Somerset, Michelle Gabriel of Stoughton, Claudia Cassamajor and her husband Bernard of Bridgewater, and Ronald Gabriel Sr. of Stoughton and his late wife Kelly.

A proud grandfather to Emily, Hans, Brendan, Sasha, Nadia, Siobhan, Ronnie, and Caleb, and great-grandfather to Rowan, Hans cherished every moment with his grandchildren, always ensuring to attend each of their life events, from sports matches to graduations and birthdays. His legacy continues through the joyous lives of his progeny.

After completing his education at an Electrical College in Haiti, Hans became a skillful Union Carpenter, contributing many years of service to Local 40, now amalgamated into Local 328.

He is fondly remembered by his siblings: Marie Therese, Felix Jr., Yves, Louisa, and the memories of his late brothers Carlos and Arnold. A caring godfather to Angela, Sabine and Jarik, he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss his warmth and guidance.

A man of many talents, Hans was the quintessential handyman who could fix anything. His hands were rarely still, always tending to his garden or embarking on countless DIY projects around the house. A loyal and devoted husband, he shared an unbreakable bond with his wife, Mireille, characterized by mutual support and boundless love.

Those who knew Hans are struck by the loss of a man who was endlessly kind, loving, and remarkably handy. He wove these traits into the very fabric of his family, teaching them the meaning of hard work, compassion, and the importance of family above all else. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide those he has left behind.

Hans Joseph Gabriel, Sr.'s life stands as a testament to the values of family, faith, and service - ideals that he not only preached but also practiced in his everyday existence. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, we find solace in the love he spread and the lives he touched. His influence will live on through the enduring strength and unity of his family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Saturday, October 4th from 8:30-10:00 AM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 North Main Street, Randolph. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 in Saint James Church, 560 Page Street, Stoughton. Burial to follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
