Hans James Weber, age 48, of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2025. Born on January 5, 1977 and raised in
Jefferson City, Missouri, Hans lived a life defined by service, integrity, and deep devotion to his family.
Hans was the beloved husband of Silke Weber, his wife of 21 years, and a devoted father to their children, Colin and Marie Weber. Hans was the cherished son of his parents, James and Betty Weber, and was pre-deceased by his mother, Betty. He was a devoted and loving brother to his sister Julie Weber. Family was the center of Hans' life, and he took great pride in being a husband, father, son, and brother.
Hans earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri. Following his education, he was commissioned into the United States Army, where he went on to serve a distinguished 25-year career. Through steadfast leadership and unwavering commitment to duty, Hans rose to the rank of Colonel before retiring with honor. His service reflected his strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and dedication to those he led and served alongside.
During his military career, Hans was honored with numerous awards for his exemplary service and leadership, including two Bronze Stars, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.
Outside of his professional and family life, Hans had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed exploring nature, working on and off-roading in his Jeep Wrangler, and traveling to new destinations. At home he enjoyed tending to a well-manicured lawn and tinkering with various projects.
Hans' life was guided by his deep faith in Jesus Christ. The light of Jesus shined through his actions, his love for others, and how he carried himself.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hans' memory to UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
Hans will be remembered for his leadership, his kindness, and his unwavering love for his family. His legacy of service and devotion will live on in the lives he touched.
A funeral service will be held on December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pinehurst United Methodist Church. Burial will take place on December 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in
Jefferson City, Missouri.
