Douglas Light Obituary
He was born on February 28, 1952, in Vienna, Missouri, the son of Wilford Roe Light and Mary Ann (Terwilliger) Light.
Following his schooling, Doug proudly joined the United States Army and served with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Maries County, where he worked as a farmhand until his health declined.
Doug was an avid outdoorsman who grew up along the river and carried that love of nature throughout his life. He had a true passion for working on cars and was known for being especially skilled at it. Above all, Doug treasured time with his family and took great joy in keeping up with their lives. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and dearly loved his cat, Miss Kitty.
He is survived by two sisters, Debbie (Steve) Rohrbach and Audrey Hancock; one brother, Paul (Heather) Light; one sister-in-law, Lisa Dunham; one brother-in-law, Tom Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Phyllis Patterson and Melissa Salts.
