Hanson Purser Obituary

Bonnie Purser (81) passed away peacefully on Friday 9/19/25 after a lengthy illness. A visitation for family & friends will be held Wednesday, 10/1/25 at 1pm at

Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church with a memorial service following after at 2pm. Rev. Keith Goodlett, Rev. John Irwin and Rev. Robert Webb will officiate.

Interment will be private at Pitts Chapel Memorial Gardens.

She was known as Bonnie to friends and extended family, but to her beloved immediate family she was known only as Bane. The name Rob gave her when he

was learning to talk and it stuck. Bane was born April 7, 1944 in Macon Ga to proud parents Hanson and Elizabeth Cook. When she was born, her grandfather saw her beautiful features and called her "Bonnie Blue Eyes". That's how she became known to the world as Bonnie.

She had a love of learning all of her life and was very smart. For years, she would do the Macon Telegraph crossword puzzle in ink pen. She was an expert at

crocheting, making treasured keepsakes for her family. She and Ray (known as Pap) were married for over 52 years until his death in

2016. Their unwavering devotion to one another was undeniable.

She lived a life that was kind and compassionate, often taking in folks that were down on their luck. The idea of someone being hungry or cold was intolerable to

her. For over 40 years she worked alongside her mother who was a hairdresser with a shop in her house. And then for a time at CVS where she greeted everyone

with kind words and a gentle smile. But of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of being a mother, grandmother, and aunt. She raised her family in a faith-filled household, praying over them constantly. Always selfless and supportive, you knew you were loved when she was around.

Left to cherish these precious memories of her are her children, Austin Purser (Kim Williams) and Alan Purser. Daughter-In-Law April Purser (Bert, deceased) Her

grandchildren, Rob Purser, Jess Purser, Kaitlyn Purser, Courtney Arnold (Bubba), and Hanson Purser along with several great grandchildren. As well as 2 nieces that

she loved like daughters, Leslie Brooks (Tab) and Hannah Stephens (Kevin) and 1 great niece.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Purser, Son Albert (Bert) Purser, brother Fred Cook and his wife Harbyn Cook.
