Amazed at how Pops could say so much with so few words. Once when I chose to use a stage name for performing, he saw it, gave me that "really? Are you sure?" look and said, "why would you do that? Use your real name so people know who you are." That was it. He left the room. What I got from that is you ought be proud of who you are, from where you come and how you live your life, treat others etc. If you aren't, you have some thinking to do.
I always say one of the greatest compliments a person can receive is to be invited into someone's home. Knowing I was always welcome in the Papagianis home, especially during the holidays was not only a great compliment but a privilege and an honor.
Oh that lamb roast! And man, what a smile!
I love you Pops!
BJ
PS: I ditched my stage name shortly thereafter

What can I say that already will not be said. Pops "usually" had a smile on his face, he was kind, honest, and genuine. You would know him best by looking at his legacy, his children and grandchildren. His family is everything to him. I will never forget what he would say, "Buutch, Brian noo. Don't act like that, what is the matter with you two?" We never answered. But Pops, in case you are still wondering, the answer is, I don't know. Pops, I love and miss you.
