Hardy Page Obituary

Hardy “William” Page, Jr., 80, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 after a lengthy illness.

William was born on April 29, 1944 at home in Sheffield Township in Davie County to Hardy William Page, Sr. and Lucy Elizabeth Blankenship Page.

He often told fun stories of growing up in Spencer with his sisters and the adventures they got into on 5th Street. He graduated from North Rowan High School. William joined the Army and was sent to Vietnam where he served as a heavy equipment mechanic. A lifelong logger since his teens, he worked alongside his dad for many years. He absolutely loved the outdoors and was very talented with walking a tract of timber and knowing the amount of lumber that could come from it. He owned and operated Lake Fork Lumber Company which he enjoyed and all the people he got to talk to. He was soft spoken with a wonderful sense of humor, and put everyone he met at ease.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy C. Page in 1990, and by his second wife Doris Smith Page on December 22, 2024.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Jane Ketchie and Marie Bowen (Dan); daughters, Robin Page Cain (Ricky), Kelli Page Bame, and his bonus daughter, Angie Padon; son, Robert G. Bame (Rhonda); grandchildren: Emily Bame (Austin), Nathan Bame (Aleah), Ryan Bame (Allie), Owen Bame, Nick Cain (Christian), Holly Cain (Owen); 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday (March 29) at Union Lutheran Church with a Celebration of Life Service for William and Doris following at 10:30 AM in the church. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, plant a tree or donate to The Arbor Day Foundation, 211 N. 12th Street, Lincoln, NE 68508.
