Ole was born in Hettinger County, ND to the late Alvin J. and Inga Bergan Olson. He was the oldest of five children. "Ole" lived a full and busy life. Joining the Navy at the beginning of the Korean War, he served on the USS Roanoke and the battleship, USS Missouri. He was proud to serve his country in war and had a career with the D.O.D. and FAA. Working in the government, he and his family moved about and enjoyed taking up the local pastimes. He rode bulls in rodeos, enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He had a horseshoe pit at his home. As travels headed east, he took up golf and attending reunions for his ships.
He left all he met with a memory. His last residences were in The Gardens of Sumter in South Carolina. Also, Bentley Commons in Lynchburg, VA. He loved the staffs and enjoyed the residents.
