Harley Ray Asher, age 93 of Marceline, died Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline. Harley was born on June 26, 1929 in Purdin, Missouri to Earl Wayne and Clara Marie (Seymour) Asher. He married Lorbetta Verlene (Betsy) Reddick on November 15, 1953.
Harley was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Alaska. He was a Dairy Farmer and Milk Processor serving the local community for many years. He was a baseball fan and enjoyed watching and listening to the two Missouri teams.
He is survived by two children, Lane R. Asher of Marceline, and Penny C. Kelso of Old Hickory, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Johnathan (Elizabeth) Kelso, Andrew Kelso, and Alicia Roberts all of Lubbock, TX, two great grandchildren, Asher Lewis and Genesis Reyne also of Lubbock, TX, two sisters Joyce (Howard) Brecheisen of Bartlesville, OK, Reta McVaugh of Kansas City, KS and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Clara Smith, and three brothers, Alton, Gilbert and Carlos.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with visitation starting at 10 AM. Burial with Military Honors will be in Peden Chapel Cemetery southeast of Marceline.
