Harley Martin Hatfield (Marty) 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pennsylvania to the late Robert Hatfield and Viola Hatfield (Adkins), Marty built a life rooted in love, dedication, and giving back to his community. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.
He was a lifelong avid hunter and enjoyed being in the woods.
He was a past master mason and recently received his 50-year pin from the Lake Drummond Masonic lodge.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose guidance and steady presence touched the lives of many.
Marty is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Van Hatfield; his son, Tim Hatfield (Beth): his daughter, Tracy Hatfield (Todd Humphrey)
Marty was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren-Madison, Morgan, Mallory and Zachary.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Jordan and his brothers, Ronald Hatfield and David Hatfield
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, the family will receive visitors from 2-3PM with the Service at 3PM at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel 524 Cedar Rd. Chesapeake, VA. 23322
The burial will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 11AM at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
