Beth Hickman Bland

Beth Hickman Bland passed away on January 30, 2026 at the age of 61. She was preceded in death by her parents Irene Hickman Bordeaux & Bernard Summers, nephew Amari Heard, and special favorites cousin Michael Sherman & brother in law John Bandelean.

A Norfolk native Beth had a zest for life and a great smile. She was an All Star softball player with Azalea Little League and traveled to state championships with Major Girls and National Playoffs with Seniors, ending up just falling short of making the World Series. Beth loved the summers she and her sister spent with their father in Pennsylvania. In adulthood Beth loved traveling, especially to see her best friend Elizabeth in Georgia. Beth was an avid San Francisco 49er fan and enjoyed shouting at the tv during game days. Beth worked for various veterinary practices over the years, taking care of animals which she loved so much.

Left to mourn her loss are her children Corvette Lemons and Darrell Buckner; grandchildren Antonio, Xavier, Tayshawn and Della; aunt Susan Hickman; sister Ginny Bandelean; Niece Sarah Bandelean and her very loved dog Finnegan.

Beth's memorial service will be held Friday February 13th 11:00am in the Chapel of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home located 524 Cedar Rd in Chesapeake Va 23322. A private celebration of life will follow, family may be contacted for details. Please consider honoring Beth by wearing her favorite color green.
