Harley (Christopher Harland) Sturgeon, age 49, passed away on October 1st, 2025, from complications of respiratory failure at St. Mark’s Hospital in Millcreek, Utah.
Born on September 4th, 1976, in Bountiful, Utah, Harley was the son of Shirlene Walker and Wilford Allen “Jess” Sturgeon. He was raised by Shirlene and Richard Walker. He grew up in Bountiful and graduated from Viewmont High School before attending trade school to pursue a career in construction plumbing.
Harley worked in the kitchen at the Alta Club before becoming a construction plumber. He began his plumbing career at KOH. Later he worked at Harris. Then in 2011, he joined KHI. He was a member of the Local 140 Union, known for his hard work.
On October 31st, 2002, Harley married Torysa. Together they had Christopher and Zoe.
Harley enjoyed building Legos while watching TV with Zoe, trap shooting with Chris and Kat, watching superhero movies, Star Wars, and The Simpsons. He loved gardening, cooking, smoking, and barbecuing food. He went to the car wash every Friday, like clockwork. He went on drives in the fall to see the changing leaves. He loved camping with his family, playing with remote control cars and go-karts. Harley worked out regularly to stay mobile and active. He had a great and sarcastic sense of humor.
Harley is survived by his family, Torysa, Chris (Kat), and Zoe. His siblings Hope (Dave) Waldvogel and Paul (Jodie) Walker; and nine nieces and nephews. His stepfather Richard Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirlene Walker and Wilford Allen “Jess” Sturgeon.
Our family would like to express gratitude to the nurses, doctors and respiratory therapists from Lakeview and St Marks hospitals. They worked so hard with Harley.
A celebration of Harley’s life will be held on Friday, October 10th, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at 1476 N 300 W, Bountiful, Utah 84010. All who knew and loved Harley are welcome to attend.
