Harold Joseph “Big H” Sablich, Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Harold was born August 7, 1947 to Harold Joseph Sablich, Sr. and Maria Romeo Sablich.
Harold was a life long resident of Biloxi, MS. He graduated from Biloxi High School, then attended MGCCC and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Harold worked for the McDermott Petroleum Reserve as a Liaison to the Department of Energy. Harold was a member of the Marrero and Waggaman Jaycees, Slavonian Lodge, and King of Kegs. He was also recognized in the Biloxi Sports Hall of Fame for both Baseball and Football. In his free time, he enjoyed LSU football and playing billiards.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Joseph Sablich, Sr. and Maria Romeo Sablich.
Survivors include his spouse, Celine Macdonald Sablich; children, Jill S. (Robert) Huffman, Troy W. (Krista) Sablich, and Chad C. (Brandi) Sablich; grandchildren, Chelsea, Chase, Ty, Kylie, Collin, Hannah, Aiden, and Tia; great-grandchild, Tatum Robinson; and siblings, Nancy (Thomas) Clark, Larry (Cheryl) Sablich, and Glenn (Mari) Sablich.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1:30 pm at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
An LSU Celebration of Life will be held after at The Slavonian Lodge, 159 Maple St, Biloxi, MS 39530. Food and drinks will be included.
The family would like to thank The Blake at Biloxi, Kare-med, and all of the compassionate aides that cared for Harold along with the excellent Gentiva Hospice nurses.
