Harold “Billy” William Moilanen, age 77, passed away surrounded by family on December 21, 2024. He was born on March 29, 1947 in Laurium, Michigan to the late Harold and Ann (Pechawer) Moilanen. Following his high school graduation, he entered into military service. He served honorably in the United States Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne in Vietnam. Upon his return from service, he found a job in Sheboygan, Wisconsin working for the Kohler Company. There, he thrived as a valued employee, earning his place in the Quarter Century Club, and was involved in the Kohler “Blues” Softball Team. While in Sheboygan, he met Leona Finley. They married and together raised three children: Sara, Brandon and Brett.

Harold will always be remembered for his strong work ethic and being a wonderful family man. He loved to hunt, fish, cheer on his Packers, his visits to the casino, and playing in league pool tournaments across the Sheboygan area. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Harold will be deeply missed by those who loved him and had the privilege of knowing him.

Harold is survived by his children: Brandon and Brett Moilanen (Sarah), his step-daughter Sara Finley (Mark Ammon), his grandchild Brianna Finley, his brothers Stanley and Martin Moilanen, his close friends from Upper Michigan Arnold and Jean, Mary Ann, Danny, and Gary from Sheboygan. In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his brothers John and Clyde Moilanen.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the VA Hospital in Green Bay for their care and concern.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
