William Harold Bridges was born in Prentiss, Mississippi, on January 24, 1952, to Henry Mike and Minnie Louise Bridges. He was a beloved member of the Jefferson Davis community, dedicating his life to both his family and his career. He graduated from Prentiss High School and subsequently devoted 37 years of his life to the Frito-Lay Company, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church but had spent his entire married life attending the Prentiss Presbyterian Church, where he could worship with his family.
Harold was a man of quiet demeanor yet possessed a charming wit that emerged when his family surrounded him. He was lovingly referred to as "Pawpaw" by his cherished grandchildren, with whom he loved spending precious moments, creating memories that will forever be treasured by all who knew him.
His passions extended beyond his family. Harold had a deep love for horses and often found joy in working with them. He possessed a fondness for old Western movies, relishing the stories and characters they presented. Many afternoons were spent riding around the countryside with his wife, Patricia, before her passing, enjoying the simplicity and beauty of the world around them.
Though he may have been quiet in nature, Harold's presence was undoubtedly impactful. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the laughter he brought into the lives of his loved ones. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Harold Bridges leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 52 years, Patricia; grandson Brandon Michael Jones; and one brother, Leslie Mike Bridges.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Kim Jones of Prentiss and Pam Riels (Joe) of Seminary; grandchildren, Colton Jones, Sarah Riels, and Allyson Riels; Sister-in-law, Judy Bridges; and Emily Stephens (Hayden); brother-in-law, Charles Blackburn; and John Jones.
