Harold Joseph “Joe” Burnell, 68, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home.
A visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the home.
Joe was adopted in love by Wayne and Pauline Jackson. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines and provided for his family through his work as a boiler maker. He was a faithful member of Reidsville Christian Church and had a close relationship with Jesus. Joe will be remembered for the way he lit up a room, his honesty, and the way he put others at ease. Being around his family was important and he always put his faith and family first.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth, whom he adored for 45 years; Daddy’s girls, Angela (Craig) Williams, Amanda (Jack) Cannon; Poppy to Gracie (Christian) Wright, Katie Williams, Jack Edward and Joanna Cannon; sisters, Penny (Dennis) Culler and Sheila (Chuck) Wilkerson; brothers, Rick (Lisa) Jackson, Marty (Leigh Anne) Jackson, and Keith (Sandra) Burnell and his best buddy, Tommy Ratliff.
