Thankful to all who remember dad. It's hard to believe it's been 2 years already. I still have unexpected moments where the impact just knocks the wind right out of me. And other times when the smile won't leave my face as I think of him. So grateful to have had such a loving father.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)

Major Chafin, SFC Madden, and CSM Pitt were the influences that made me certain I wanted to become a Soldier. Maj. Chafin and I didnt always see eye to eye, but I did value his training and after a year in the Army Infantry, I realized that I wasnt always right after all. As one of his students and later, a soldier, he will be missed. To his family, thank you for allowing him to guide people like me to a better life of service and my prayers are with you all.

My dad was one of the best men I have ever known. He served his country and his family well with distinction. He loved quietly and well. I was his "princess long legs" and he always made me feel beloved. Dad was a 20 year veteran of the Army, retiring as a Major, where he went on to teach HS AJROTC at Lee High School. When I was a baby, Dad was stationed to Germany, and had to leave us. Yet a few months later, we were one of the first families to follow their servicemen overseas. When we arrived, I went straight into his arms. He said that there was no way I could have known him, yet I will always believe that I truly did. He's at peace now & struggled a lot with health issues. I will love & miss hims always.
