Harold Eugene Cox departed this life on September 13, 2025, at his residence in Laurel, Maryland. He was born in Shipman, Virginia to the late William and Maggie Cox. He grew up as a member of his family church, Montreal Baptist Church. Harold was educated in the Nelson County Public School system and went on to join the United States Army in 1965. He enjoyed art, listening to music, riding his motorcycle, and completing word search books. He was also often described by friends as “debonair.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Cox Turner, and a nephew, Darryl Cox. He is survived by his brother, Gideon Cornelius Cox and three nieces, Tonia, Brianna, and Bryelle Turner of Maryland, along with a host of cousins and friends.
The family thanks everyone for their condolences and apologize for any inconvenience regarding the cancellation of the memorial service. We honor Harold’s life and wishes by fulfilling his request to be cremated and his ashes will be spread over the Atlantic Ocean.
