Harold Dolan, 96, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Born in Providence on November 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Harold and Edith Dolan.
Harold was the husband of Sandra (Bresler) Dolan with whom they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, creating a life together filled with love, laughter, and companionship. Together, they enjoyed many Red Sox games, and Providence Friar games as a longtime season ticket holder. He enjoyed reading, gardening and taking trips with his wife. Harold found true happiness in life's simple gifts and the closeness of his loved ones.
Harold was a proud graduate of La Salle Academy, class of 1946, and Providence College, earning his bachelor's degree in 1954. Prior to attending college, he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1946 to 1951. He began his career in sales at Beecroft and Mandeville Chevrolet before later serving as the business manager at the former Ladd School, where he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Dolan of West Warwick; his daughters, Kathleen Dolan and her husband Thomas Holbrook of Milwaukee, WI, and Lisa Breedon and her husband Patrick of Coventry. He was affectionately known as "Papa" to his grandchildren: Olivia, Clayton, Adam, Zachary Ashley and Kyle as well as his great-grandchildren, Sofia and Benjamin. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Kayatta.
A committal service conducted by Harold's nephew Father Francis Kayatta followed by military honors will be held privately at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
