Harold Stanley Effert, 90, passed away on December 26, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Robert and Mary Bernice (Dewane) Effert on August 6, 1934. He grew up in Bay Settlement, Wisconsin and enlisted in the Navy in 1952. He studied Industrial Engineering at Milwaukee School of Engineering from 1956 to 1958.
Harold married Veronica Julia (Ronni) on July 4, 1957, raising their children in Appleton, Wisconsin before moving their young family to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1974. He worked for Garrett Turbine Engine Company (later AlliedSignal Aerospace) and retired to Prescott, Arizona in 1993.
Harold's wife Ronni preceded him in death in 2009. He is survived by his five children, Amy (Larry) Beckner of Scottsdale, Arizona; Peter Effert of Phoenix, Arizona; Paula (William) McCormick of Sterling, Kansas; Nicholas Effert of Gilbert, Arizona; and Joseph (Katie) Effert of The Woodlands, Texas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and a large extended family. It was his heart's desire that all have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
A military honors ceremony will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix on Monday, January 13 at 2pm. A celebration of life will follow at Messinger Mortuary, 8555 East Pinnacle Peak Road, Scottsdale, Arizona. All are invited to sign Harold's guestbook and share a memory with family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Community Pregnancy Center, 1124 East Gurley Street, Prescott, Arizona, 86301.
