Loraine Effert Obituary
Loraine Belle Effert, affectionately known as Lori, passed away peacefully at her home in Hubert, North Carolina, on June 15, 2025, at the age of 69. She was born on September 19, 1955, in Ottawa, Illinois to the late Ralph Anderson and Emma Anderson. Lori lived a life full of love, laughter, and always on her own terms.
Lori spent the majority of her life in Porterfield, Wisconsin, where she worked diligently as a machine operator at Ceramite until her retirement. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her passion for the outdoors. She was an adventurous spirit who found joy in fishing, camping, and gardening. Her vegetable and flower gardens were a testament to her nurturing nature and love for beauty. Lori also cherished time at the beach, where the sound of the waves brought her peace, however, her most cherished time was being in the company of her grandchildren.
In the kitchen, Lori was best known for her delicious fried fish and fried zucchini, dishes that brought family and friends together around her table. Her culinary skills were just one of the many ways she expressed her love and care for those around her.
A devoted member of the Pentecostal faith, Lori's life was a testament to her strong beliefs and values. She was a caretaker to all, always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear. Her feisty spirit, humor, and stubbornness were well-known traits that endeared her to many.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Tracy Jones (Mike) of Hubert, NC, Karissa Nowak (Chris) of Wausaukee, WI, and Brenda Wallace of Columbus, GA; her sons, James Bieber of Green Bay, WI, and George Bieber of Porterfield, WI; her cherished grandchildren, Cole Nowak, Chloe Nowak, Kylea Nowak, Cooper Nowak, Donovan Wallace, Gregory Sykes, Caileen Shields, Leanna Socie, Jovany Troetsch, Nayelis Troetsch, and David Epps; and her great-grandchildren, Rett Shields and Lexi Shields of Columbus, GA, will grow up hearing stories of their remarkable great-grandmother.
Lori is also survived by her sisters, Mary Olson of Bradley, IL, and Patty Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; and her extended family to include Tonya Guns and family of Wausaukee, WI, all of whom will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Bieber; her second husband, Joseph Effert; as well as her son, Jordan Effert. Also, her brothers and sisters, Joanne Hughes, Roxie Scerini, Sharon Fessler and Irene Donahue; as well as her brothers, Marty Anderson, Fred Anderson, Michael Anderson, and Ralph Anderson Jr.
A celebration of Lori's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the legacy of a woman who touched so many lives with her warmth and generosity.
Lori Effert will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

The Magic of a Mother's Touch There's magic in a Mother's touch, and sunshine in her smile. There's love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile. We can find both hope and courage, Just by looking in her eyes. Her laughter is a source of joy, her works are warm and wise. There is a kindness and compassion to be found in her embrace, and we see the light of heaven shining from a Mother's face. -By David Harkins To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Loraine, please visit our floral store.
