Harold Goodnight
Harold Goodnight was born on May 7, 1963, and passed away on February 1, 2025. He was blessed to have been a son, brother and father.
Harold was preceded in death by his father Harold Goodnight Sr., and his son Jacob Goodnight, from Denver, Colorado.
He is survived by his Mother Aggie Goodnight; Sister Irene Goodnight Herrera and husband John and their children Barbara Jean and Athyena; Brother Albert Rivera; Uncles Gilbert Rivera, Felipe Rivera and wife Flora, Macario Rivera and Theresa; along with many cousins on the Rivera side. He was especially close to his cousin and best friend Martin Rivera and wife Loretta and their children Keisha, Kiana, and Daniel.
Harold lived in Denver, Colorado, for many years and made his living with his career in welding. After returning home to Ojo Caliente, New Mexico, he continued with his welding career. He was immediately employed by the NM Department of Transportation in Santa Fe, New Mexico (NMDOT). Because of his welding and other skills, he worked at many different patrols in different districts. Throughout the many years at NMDOT, he developed many friendships with his coworkers, some of which he considered family. He was truly blessed to have the best of both families.
His favorite pastime was riding horses. His favorite horse was Hot Rod. He very much enjoyed fishing, camping hauling firewood, and just about anything in the outdoors.
De Vargas Funeral Home was entrusted with his funeral. A Rosary will be Held on Monday, February 24th at 6:00 PM at De Vargas Funeral Home. His Mass will be at St. Mary's Church in Ojo Caliente on February 25th at 11:00 AM and the funeral will follow immediately after at the Ojo Caliente Cemetary.
