Harold Guy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home on May 18, 2023.
Harold John Guy, age 75, originally of Cataract, Wisconsin, passed away at his home in Northfield, Wisconsin on May 16th, 2023.
Harold was born December 19, 1947, in Sparta, Wisconsin to Beatrice Rose Guy (Armstrong) and Hugh Andrew (Guy). He grew up in Cataract on his parent's farm with his siblings. As a child and teenager, he loved to help around the farm. He graduated from Sparta High in 1966. After high school he married Joanne Zarhte and had three children, Steve, Sherri, and Sue. Harold left home and started a new life with his family. Tragedy struck and Harold lost his wife. He and the kids then moved back with his parents. Shortly after moving back home, he started working for Lunda Construction traveling to various states. During a difficult situation, Harold had to get off the road and come home to be with his kids.
In his early 40s, bear hunting became Harold's big passion. Shortly after, in 1990 he met an angel sent from heaven, and the love of his life Alice Jane Guy (Foemmel). They later got married in 1992, and had two children, Rose and Kelly. As a family they looked forward to bear season every summer. Harold enjoyed an active social life and tinkering in the garage. Throughout his life he had many different jobs, but his heart was always in farming and mechanic work.
Harold is survived by his wife, Alice Guy; and children, Steven (Diane) Guy, Sherri Bergerson, Rosie (Colby) Duncan, and Kelly (Mitchell) Hautamaki. Harold is further survived by nine grandchildren: Desirae, Brian, Ethan, Steven "Jr.", Josh, Marissa, Travis, Sheldon and Natalie. He also had 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Beatrice and Hugh Guy; his siblings, Beverly Stanhope, Hugh "Jr." Guy, and his first wife Joanne Zarhte, and their daughter Sue Guy.
Memorial services for Harold Guy will be held Wednesday, May 24 at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home of Hixton, beginning at 4:30pm. Friends are invited to call during visitation from 2:30 until the start of services. Pastor Elden Simonson will officiate.
