Harold Rochelle Heath, 92, of Knoxville Tn, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. He was born on February 21, 1933, in Pontotoc, Oklahoma, to Noah and Dora Dean Heath.
Harold met his wife, LaVaughan Pulliam, while attending the University of Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and later Masters Degrees in both Administrative Supervision and Educational Psychology. Harold and LaVaughan were married in 1953 and shared a lifetime of love and travel, visiting more than 40 states and several countries. A devoted Tennessee Vols fan, Harold also demonstrated a lifelong commitment to helping others by donating over 600 units of platelets.
He dedicated his life to education, serving Anderson County Schools as a guidance counselor and principal. He worked to make learning accessible and helped establish the Breakaway Wilderness Program for students with behavioral challenges. His compassion and steady leadership made a lasting difference in the lives of countless students and teachers.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary Richard Heath and Dr. William D. Heath; and his son, Gary Michael Heath.
He is survived by his wife LaVaughan Heath; sons, Kent Gregory Heath and Christopher David Heath; and grandchildren, Andy Heath, Althea Heath and Sarah Jackson.
Harold will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to others, his gift for storytelling, and his great love for dogs. He lived with joy and purpose, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew him. In lieu of flowers please donate blood to Medic Regional Blood Centers
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 2:00pm - 3:00pm with a memorial service starting at 3:00pm at Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Harold, please visit our floral store.
