Harold E. Hess
Harold E. Hess, age 84 of Cranesville, Pa. passed away at home with his family at his side on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Harold was born in Waterford, Pa. on January 2, 1942, the son of the late Harry and Pearl (Daugherty) Hess. After high school, Harold served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era. He retired after many years at PHB as a sonar technician. In his spare time, he enjoyed chopping down trees, growing vegetables in his garden and mowing his yard. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, Harold is preceded in death by two sisters; Kay, and Elizabeth and three brothers; Herbert, Earl, and Clayton Richard Hess.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years in July, Barbara (Wright) Hess, and a son, David and his partner, Rose and a daughter, Jessica and her partner, Bobby. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews and three sister-in-laws; Doris Morgan, Barbara Ann Wright, and Carol Wright and a brother-in-law, Russell Wright. He is also survived by his step-granddaughter, Paisley. He was especially excited about a granddaughter, Scarlet Irene Hess, that is on the way. Even though he will not be able to meet her in person, he will be looking down on her from Heaven.
