Harold L. Himle, age 86, of Chisholm, MN, passed peacefully away at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on January 31, 1939, in Hayfield, MN, to Haven and Doris (Exe) Himle.
He graduated from Hayfield High School in 1957 and worked for Hormel for many years before attending Tech School, and then moved up to Hibbing, MN, and bought the Hibbing Shoe Repair Store, which he owned and operated. Harold was a cowboy at heart and loved riding horses, dressing up in his western wear. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Eagles Club, a past member of the Masonic lodge, and Hibbing Shriners. He loved gardening, especially proud of his tomato plants. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine “Gigi” (Susich) Himle; Children, Jeff (Michelle) Himle, Jason Himle, and Chris Himle; stepson, Lee (Bonnie Robich) Swart; cousin, Merlin (Lynne) Johnson; and 15 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Floyd Roe; Sister, Rose Marie Sorensen; Stepsons, Kenny Swart, and Michael Swart; grandchildren, Casey and Josiah Swart; great-great-grandson, Xander Himle.
At this time, there will be no services.
