Funeral Services for Mr. Harold Eugene “Gene” Hodges, 94, of Monroe, LA, will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 10, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will be 12:30 P.M. Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville.
Mr. Hodges was born August 8, 1928, and passed away on June 28, 2023. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Hodges enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was a member of the Barak Shriners, Masonic Lodge Western Star #24, American Legion Post #13, and Scottish Rite. Mr. Hodges worked for with his father at the Superior Lumber Company and then went to work and retired from Ford, Bacon, and Davis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie Lee Hodges and Frances Hamilton Hodges; wife, Helen Lorance Hodges; sister, Dorothy Hodges Jones; great granddaughter, Jaden; and his loving companion, Mary Traylor.
Survivors include his three children, Jill Hodges Karr, Jan Hodges Pitzer (Darrell), and Lee Hodges (Donna); ten grandchildren, John Karr, Elizabeth Darby (Paul), Melissa Karr, Stephen Pitzer, Jennifer Pitzer Arant (Chris), Brittany Hodges, Matthew Hodges, Jennifer Merrywell, Stephen May, and Janna Buchman (Tucker); six great-grandchildren, Caroline, Adalyn, Camden, Oliver, Emma, and Jeremiah.
Pallbearers will be John Karr, Stephen Pitzer, Matthew Hodges, Chris Arant, Wayne Haire, and Darrell Pitzer.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ridgecrest Community Care, Memory Cottage, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Kerry Anders, and Dr. Tejal Jetha.
Memorials may be made to Graceminster Presbyterian Church or Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 10, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
