Harold Bernard Marble died peacefully on May 24th, 2024 at the age of 86 in the presence of his two children. Harold was the widower of Rosemary (Nellis). Harold was the father of Jeffrey Marble (Jennifer), Karen Marble Muzljakovich (Daniel) and the grandfather of Ryan Marble, Lauren Marble, Joshua Muzljakovich and Kate Muzljakovich. He was the brother of David Marble and the uncle to Chris Marble, Dori Marble (George) and Robin (Marble) Sapikowski.
Harold was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 13, 1938. Harold is preceded in death by his mother Florence Marble (Bernard) and his father Russell Eason Marble and his niece Megan (Marble) Alcala (Mario). He moved to Royal Oak, Michigan at the age of 3 and graduated from Royal Oak Dondero High School.
Harold was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Gladwin, Michigan, attended Seacrest Presbyterian Church in Delray Beach, Florida and Woodside Bible Church in Troy, Michigan. He was also a member of the Gideons.
Working for the phone company his entire career, he retired after 39 years of service. After retiring, he and Rosemary were snowbirds, spending time at their home in northern Michigan and in southern Florida.
Harold was a man of many hobbies and talents. He enjoyed life! He obtained his ham radio license in high school and advanced to an Amateur Radio Extra license. He was a volunteer every year at the Ausable Canoe Marathon race, utilizing his ham radio expertise. He was an avid boater and especially loved the inland waterway in northern Michigan along with the Foote and Cooke dam waterways near Oscoda. He rode Harley Motorcycles and was even known to have hit a deer on his bike and kept on going! He had a general aviation license and enjoyed flying his Cessna 150 and later Piper airplane out of the Pontiac airport. He built a woodshop and enjoyed making cabinets and furniture.
A memorial service for Harold will be held later this summer.
