Jane Hevel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Utica on Feb. 18, 2026.
Jane E. Kaltz-Van Hevel, age 71, longtime resident of Shelby Township, Michigan and formerly of Sterling Heights. Jane passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Mount Clemens, Michigan. She was born on March 15, 1954, at Mount Clemens General Hospital to her late parents, Walter and Doris (nee' Young) Kaltz. She was the second rainbow baby of Doris and Walter, along with her twin sister Joan.

A 1972 graduate of Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights, after graduation, Jane would go on to spend more than 50 years dedicating her life with her twin sister, Joan, running the family business -Twin Flower Shop in Sterling Heights. What began as a job working alongside her parents, it would grow into a lifelong calling, and through her dedicated hard work, Jane and her twin sister, Joan, would proudly continue the family business. She became known for her beautiful knowledge of floral designs and an artistic touch. Her creativity and eye for design brought joy to countless brides, celebrations and special moments throughout the community.

Jane's greatest joy was her family; she absolutely loved going "up north" with her father, nieces and nephews, where they created many memories filled with stories, laughter, and togetherness. She adored spending time surrounded by family, whether it was painting a picture and adding it to her collection, or a cold Diet Pepsi, simple pleasures in her life mattered the most.

She also had a very special place in her heart for animals, a true animal lover, caring deeply for them and always showing compassion and kindness.

Wife of the late Maurice Van Hevel. Jane will be deeply missed by her twin sister Joan (the late Robert) Harri, and her brother's Walter (the late Debra) Kaltz and the late Clemens Kaltz. A loving aunt of Sonia (James) Bullis, Holly Harri, Chris (Lindsay) Harri, Justin (Breanna) Harri, James Kaltz and Jennifer Kaltz. A cherished great-aunt of Mark, Jackson, Hunter, Robert, Collin, Elliana and Isabelle.

Jane's warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
