Harold Edward Marshall, Jr., 84, of Versailles, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2026. Born on June 20, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the devoted husband to Barbara Jo Marshall for 60 years and the loving father to two sons Jeff Allen and Keneth Harold Marshall.
Harold was hard-working and dedicated. He founded Marshall General Contractor, Inc. where he was known for his craftmanship and professionalism throughout the industry for over 50 years.
Harold was a proud Veteran of the United States of America Army where he served his country with honor stateside and overseas.
Harold was a loyal and dedicated member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church for 73 years. He faithfully served his church for 43 years as a Deacon and 23 years as a trustee. Despite his many responsibilities, his devotion to church service was always his passion.
Harold's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, farming, and hunting. He spent many weekends hunting with family and special friends. His love for the outdoors and hunting was something he shared with his sons, leaving many memories the boys will cherish.
Harold Marshall, Jr. is survived by his loving wife Barbara Jo Marshall of Versailles, Ky; his oldest son Jeff Allen (Robyn) Marshall of Versailles, Ky; and his youngest son Kenneth Harold (Amy) Marshall of Versailles, Ky. Four granddaughters, Caroline Renee (finance Jonathan Cai Coburn), Savannah Kerstyn, Makenzie Meredith, and Amelia Hunter all of Versailles, Ky. He is additionally survived by his brother Bobby Lynn (Rebekah) Marshall of Lexington, Ky, and his sister Linda Marshall (Kenny) Tilghman of Versailles, Ky. and many nieces and nephews.
Harold is preceded in death by his mother Mary Francis Marshall and his father Harold Edward Marshall, Sr. of Lexington, Ky. He is also preceded by his granddaughter, Faith Macy Marshall of Versailles, Ky.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 4:00pm-7:30pm at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church, 483 W. Reynolds Road, Lexington, Ky. 40503. A funeral service to honor Harold Edward Marshall, Jr. will be Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 12:00pm also at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church. Military honors will be rendered graveside at Camp Nelson Cemetery in Nicholasville, Ky. Thursday, January 7, 2026, at 2:30pm.
Pallbearers will be his four beloved granddaughters; Caroline Renee Marshall, Savannah Kerstyn Marshall, Makenzie Meredith Marshall, and Amelia Hunter Marshall; and treasured family members; Kenny Tilghman, Billy Baker, Charles Foster, Jr., and Tom A. Lewis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike McCoy, John Bailey, Sr., Tom Lewis, Sr., Bob Marshall, Wayne Curry, Dr. Larry Butler, Gene Bailey, Carl Vice, and Roger Curtis.
Harold was a man known for his abundant faith and trust in Jesus Christ. His character was built on integrity, kindness, and generosity in which he humbly possessed. He made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. We find comfort in knowing that Harold's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared with us, and the memories we will always cherish.
