Marylin Faye Traylor

Marilyn Faye Traylor, better known as Cookie, 84, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at Baptist Hospital Hospital.

Cookie was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 6, 1941, to the late Ed and Leatha Brumagen. Cookie grew up in Athens, Kentucky, and spent her life supporting and caring for her family and community around her. She worked as a supervisor of the Probate Division for the County Clerk's office, where she served for over forty years. As a lifelong University of Kentucky basketball fan, her love of the Wildcats was only surpassed by her love of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a continual student of the Bible and an avid reader who loved to have conversations with anyone and everyone. She was beloved by all who knew her and lived her life for the betterment of others.

She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Harper Grace; her brother, Jack; her sister, Barbara; and her parents, Ed and Leatha. She is survived by her daughters, Marlene and Mary Beth; grandchildren, Phillip, Jacob, Tara, and Jared; and eight great-grandchildren: Beckett, Adalyn, Collins, Winston, Elsie, Madeline, Mia, and Shiloh.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 16, at First Presbyterian of Paris, 517 Pleasant St., Paris, KY 40361, at 4:00 pm.
