Harold Fred McShane

PAWTUCKET - Harold Fred McShane, 92, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026. He was the loving husband of the late Rev. Joan (Lyon) McShane for nearly

fifty-two years. Born in Coventry, he was a son of the late Arthur and Florence (Dowding) McShane.

Harold grew up in Pawtucket and honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Lineman for Massachusetts Electric for forty-four years until his retirement. Harold enjoyed traveling in his RV around the country and visiting every lighthouse; often collecting lighthouse mementos. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family.

He leaves behind his beloved children, Donald McShane (Donna) of Pennsylvania and Donna LaPlant (Stephen) of Seekonk, MA, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his brother, James McShane.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Diane Donahue and brother, Bernard McShane.

His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 11:30AM at the WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
