Harold A. Messecar

SENECA FALLS - Harold A. Messecar, age 85 and lifelong resident of Seneca Falls, passed away on Sunday (February 6, 2022) at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, with his loving wife by his side.

Calling Hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday (February 12) with a funeral service to immediately follow at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls.

Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo in the springtime.

Harold was born in Seneca Falls, the son of the late, Harold and Charlotte (Ginson) Messecar. He attended local schools, and began his working career at Seneca Falls Hospital for a short time, before taking employment with Taylor Brown Hospital in Waterloo, where he worked in the maintenance department for over 40 years. When Harold was 28, he married the former Mona Highsmith, and the two shared in 57 years together. Harold was a collector, he had a beer stein collection and was known for his one-of-a-kind model car and truck collections.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Mona; sons, Joseph Parker, Robert (Peggy) Parker, and Harold (Alison) Messecar; daughter, Michele (James) Buck; eight grandchildren, Roberta, Jason, Cameron, Brandon, Griffin, Olivia, Morghan and Jimmy; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Liam and Anthony; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Terry (Raymond) Hoelting; many cousins and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Messecar; and nephew, David Unger.
