Harold Pollitt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Urban Winkler Funeral Home - Connersville on Feb. 9, 2026.
Harold "Beanie" Pollitt of Janesville, WI (formerly of Connersville, IN) was surrounded by family when he left this world on February 7, 2026. He was 85 years old. Harold was a resident of Janesville, WI for over 17 years; however, his final months were spent at Sunset Ridge Memory Care Facility in Jefferson, WI. He was born on January 18, 1941, in Connersville and was the son of the late Glen and Bessie Pollitt.

Beanie served in the United States Army Reserve and Army National Guard from 1958-1966. Most of his adult life he was employed by the Frigidaire Company (formerly known as Design & Manufacturing) until the factory closed in 1994. Later he worked at Greene Manufacturing and then Trane Corporation in Rushville until he retired in 2003.

On July 16, 1987, Beanie married his soul mate, Dorcas "Do" (Peak/Collins) after years of sharing a home and raising a family together. Beanie enjoyed golf, tennis, woodworking and spending time with family. Most of his life was spent in Connersville until he moved to Janesville, WI with his wife to live with his daughter and family in March 2008.

Harold is survived by his son James Dale (Barbara) Pollitt of Memphis, IN; his daughter Troy Anne (Robert) Stoops of Janesville, WI and three granddaughters: Hannah (Ryan) Gerharz of Milton, WI, Karen (John) Robinson of Palmyra, IN and Patricia Lewis of Jeffersonville, IN. He is also survived by siblings Robert Pollitt, Joe (Sharon) Pollitt and Linda (Rheuben) Beach all of Connersville. There is also a large surviving extended family including multiple in-laws, nieces and nephews-many of which still live in the Connersville area. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Dorcas Pollitt, two sisters Debra Burns and Nancy Pennington; two children Brenda Smith and Aaron Isaacs; and one granddaughter Angela N. Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. 8th St., Connersville, Indiana 47331 on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with Pastor Ron Baker from the Memphis Community Church officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home beginning at 1pm until time of service at 2pm. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.

Special thanks to the staff of Sunset Ridge Memory Care Facility in Jefferson, WI and Agrace Hospice for the amazing care and support they have provided during these last few months.
