Marjorie Sue Gabbard of Connersville, IN passed away on Tuesday evening February 3, 2026, at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville, IN at the age of 86. She was born in Fayette County, Indiana on December 11, 1939, the daughter of Charles B. Wathen and Lillie Lakes Wathen.

Sue was a member of the Garrison Creek Baptist Church and a former member of Historic Connersville. She retired after 25 years of service from Ford in 1989. Sue was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that enjoyed traveling, listening to gospel bluegrass music and riding mules. Her greatest pleasure was the time she spent with her family.

Her memories will be cherished by her daughter, Sandra Lemen; granddaughter, Averill Sue (Randall) Lemen Mains; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Aiden Mains; a sister, Linda (Richard) Mays: honorary nephew, Rick Gill, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Charles Avery Gabbard; brothers, Ralph Powell and Bernie Wathen Powell; and sisters, Patricia Moore and Ruby Jane Isaacs.

Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of the service. Sue will be laid to rest at Dale Cemetery.
