Harold John Pursley, 82, of Webster City, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Van Diest Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Born October 14, 1943, in Melrose, Minnesota, Harold was the son of Charles and Rose (Klaverkamp) Pursley. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966 and later earned his bachelor’s degree in business from St. Cloud University in 1968. On June 24, 1967, Harold married the love of his life, Kathleen “Katie” Graham, in St. Cloud, MN—a union that lasted 58 beautiful years. Harold was kind and generous, with a mischievous streak and a quick sense of humor that brought laughter wherever he went. He adored his Katie and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Bumpa) and great grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He worked diligently as an accountant for many years, known for his meticulous bookkeeping and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Harold embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved golfing, fishing, playing wallyball (with a serve no one could return!), slow-pitch softball, and basketball. He was a loyal fan—cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and, with patience and humor, enduring the ups and downs of the Minnesota Vikings.

Music was woven into Harold’s life. He sang in the church choir and community chorus and often broke into song at home, filling his family’s hearts with joy. His Catholic faith was the foundation of his life. He served his parish faithfully—singing in the choir, teaching RCIA classes, ushering, serving on the parish council and participating in the Knights of Columbus and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Harold also gave his time generously as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Foodbank of Iowa in Webster City.

Harold leaves behind his beloved wife, Katie; daughters Wendy (Joe) Stocker and Trisha (Dave) Carpenter; son Paul (Adina) Pursley; grandchildren Jessica (Shay), Nate, Lucas, Megan (Kolton), Austin, Alisa, Josie, and Melia; great-grandchildren Bennett, Amelia, and Emmett; and his brother David (Barbara) Pursley. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Charles “Bud” Pursley, and sister Arlene Hills. Harold’s legacy is one of love, laughter, faith, and service. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.

Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City.
