It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Gene Robertson, age 73, who left us on December 30, 2025. He was born in Iron City, TN on July 4, 1952, Harold spent childhood in South Wayne County on Butler Creek, surrounded by the beauty of nature that he came to cherish throughout his life. He was the son of the late James Calvin and Corene Stults Robertson.
On July 17, 1970, Harold married his dear wife, Wanda Kay Melson. Their union was a testament to love and companionship, a bond that gave him joy and strength throughout his life. Harold was a man of many passions; he found great happiness in hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. His deep connection to the land blossomed into a fulfilling career as a successful business owner in farming, logging, and bail bonding.
Harold's legacy lives on through his loving family, including his devoted wife of 55 years, Wanda Kay Robertson; children, Amy Robertson Daniel and Ashlee Robertson Sherrill and husband, Brandon; siblings: Dan Robertson and wife Vicky, Sharon Reaves and husband Larry, Ebb Robertson, Donnie Robertson and wife Marcie, and Joey Robertson and wife Sheryl; his grandchildren, Chandler Daniel and wife Brandie, Chase Daniel and wife Mallory, and Case Sherrill; and great grandchildren, Emma-Kayte and Whitley Daniel.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Robertson, and sister-in-law, Doris Robertson, who will be remembered fondly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Eaton, John E. Banks, and Jerry Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
Harold Gene Robertson will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the lives he touched and the memories he created.
Pallbearers will be John "Pokey" Andrews, Donnie Carroll, Bobby Robbins, Darwin "Tuffy" Rich, Kyle Brewer, Allen "Hambone" Daniel, James "Red" Robertson, and Larry Fred Rich.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ray Franks, Gunner Rich, and Dustin Robertson.
