Harold Dean Sellers, age 89, of Gastonia, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born December 11, 1934, in Gaston County to the late Ben Ray Sellers Sr. and Mamie Gertrude Stroupe Sellers.
Harold was a graduate of Tryon High School – Class of 1953. He was a member of Antioch Lutheran Church. Harold retired from Bell South after 34 years of service. He was a member of the East Gastonia Lions Club and served on their NC Board. He volunteered at Habitat, Camp Dogwood for the visually impaired, and Dallas Christian Ministries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Sellers Queen; brothers, Troy Sellers, and Bobby Sellers.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Doris Carpenter Sellers; sons, Michael Sellers (Karen), and Randy Sellers; granddaughters, Whitney Sellers Jacobs (Andrew), and Meredith Sellers Crisp (Joshua); great-grandchildren, Jude Crisp, and Asa Crisp; siblings, B.R. Sellers, Sadie Lundberg, and Roy Sellers; sisters-in-law, Joyce Sellers, Arlene Sellers, and Jane Sellers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Antioch Lutheran Church with Rev. Rebecca Foster and Minister Brad Alexander officiating. His family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:45 prior to the service in the sanctuary. A private burial will be held in the Antioch Garden of Peace Cemetery.
